Top photo artists for Nigeria Expo
Akinsanmi
Lagos-based eloPhotos Academy has set the stage for the Nigeria Photography Expo and Conference holding between April 29 and May 2. The Agidingbi, Ikeja-based institution was founded in 2006 by accountant-turned photographer, Seun Akinsanmi, and is involved in talent hunting and training in photography.
According to Akinsanmi, it is the first time the expo tagged NiPHEC is holding in Nigeria and it will draw participants from different parts of the country and beyond.
He says, "Targeted to be the largest gathering of photography enthusiasts in West Africa, NiPHEC 2013 is expected to play host to 10,000 participants. World class photographers from the US and Nigeria are among the facilitators. They include Kelechi Aamadi-Obi, Joe McNally, Shola Animasahun and Michael Grecco."
Others include Yetunde Babaeko, Jide Alakija and Leke Adenuga.
Akinsanmi adds that the programme will cover lighting and posing, wedding photography, business and marketing, social media as well as video and multimedia.
As part of what it calls its gospel of photography, eloPhotos holds regular seminars while it also plans to have a radio and TV programme on the art and science of photography. It also produces a magazine – Picture This – a recent edition of which focuses on the life of Amadi-obi as an artist.
