Never say never. That’s the lesson learned Monday after news broke that Christopher Nolan, famed director of the updated ‘Batman’ series, might be involved with a ‘Justice League’ movie. Latino Review is reporting its exclusive.

EL MAYIMBE: “They’re shaping this as a vehicle for Christian Bale to reprise his role as Batman and join Henry Cavill’s Superman in the Justice League movie.”

The report also says Nolan has taken over the DC Comics Universe at Warner Bros. and is making all the big decisions. It makes sense -- after a super-successful ‘Batman’ trilogy, he’s now producing the ‘Superman’ reboot, ‘Man of Steel.’

But last July, Nolan said he would have nothing to do with the Justice League movie and was done with the character of Batman. Now has he changed his tune to...

BALE (as Batman): “Try to stop me.”
(Batman punches Bane, you hear big slamming sound)

OK, calm down comic book geeks. Bottom line -- is this true? Of course, Latino Review says yes, and boasts that it has a perfect track record with DC Comics news. Yet after Latino Review’s big report made waves, other fan sites have done some digging of their own.

Batman on Film reports some of the same things -- but says this might just be for a Batman/Superman film, not the ‘Justice League’ movie.

Batman on Film is none-too-pleased with Nolan if this is true, simply because it seems like he lied to fans. But HuffPost’s Chris Rosen says -- this is becoming a bit of a trend.

“As J.J. Abrams' eventual leap to ‘Star Wars’ from ‘Star Trek’ taught everyone...that which was true one week isn't necessarily true the next.”

As for Bale, a return would be less shocking -- he said if Nolan ever came to him with another story, he’d be down for another film as Batman.

And CraveOnline says, Warner Bros. needs the boost, calling the development of the Justice League movie a “fiasco” so far.  Justice League is currently slated for a summer 2015 release, in tight competition with ‘The Avengers 2’ and ‘Star Wars: Episode VII.’

“The more recent rumors claim that the whole project is in trouble after [the] script failed to pass muster, and there's still no director attached despite a supposed 2015 release date.”

And Forbes says big money is at stake -- Nolan’s Batman was beloved, and Superman is sure to be, too.

“Consider what Marvel’s The Avengers was capable of with a slate of lesser-known characters whose films never approached the worldwide $ 1 billion range...A Justice League film with this filmmaking team, staring these performers as these characters...could have global box office potential of perhaps $ 2 billion or more.”

And to clarify, right now reports are that Nolan would not direct, just oversee -- according to Latino Review, Zack Snyder is in contention. He directed ‘Man of Steel,’ out this summer.
