Has Justin Bieber gone off the rails?
JUSTIN Bieber may have started out as an innocent 13-year-old who rocketed to worldwide fame after being discovered on YouTube but his candy-sweet image has swiftly melted away in recent months.
The teen heart-throb was discovered in 2007 by Usher's business partner Scootber Braun after seeing videos posted of him singing with an acoustic guitar.
Bieber become a global superstar when his January 2010 single Baby scored him a top ten hit in more than 16 countries.
His super-cute looks and cheeky personality — teamed with gooey-pop lyrics and style — won him an army of fans, dubbed Beliebers, that saw him go from strength to strength.
However, things took a turn for the worse around his 17th birthday when Justin was seen being less than friendly towards photographers waiting to catch a glimpse of him and then girlfriend Selena Gomez outside a restaurant.
The irritated singer flipped his middle finger, although he quickly apologised for his anger on Twitter.
He wrote: "Had a great bday and at the end of the night we got surrounded by paps and I reacted in a way I know better... I'm sorry. It's not always easy but i know better than to react in anger."
But just a few months later he was seen repeating the action with slightly more vigour when on a trip to Mr Chows restaurant in London.
And it wasn't long before Justin was picking up a whole lot of attention for all the wrong reasons.
In October 2011 Justin was accused by fan Mariah Yeater of fathering her child during a backstage romp.
However the case was soon dropped when she discovered her baby-daddy was in fact her ex-boyfriend and not Justin at all.
Earlier this year Justin split from ex-girlfriend Selena for a second time amid a flurry of claims of him cheating on the pretty young actress, who he had been dating for two years.
Several stories claimed to reveal what had gone on behind the scenes with the couple — including that he had allegedly bedded 22-year-old model and nursing student Milyn Jenson.
The story was denied by his spokesman.
It was the second time they had split after initially breaking up back in November, reportedly over images of Justin enjoying nights out with his Victoria's Secret model chum Barbara Palvin.
Those close to Justin are also concerned that his friendship with Lil Twist is partly to blame for his wayward antics.
The rapper was dubbed a 'bad influence' after he was accused of clashing with fans and trying to snatch someone's camera when they went to take a photo of the singer without asking his permission.
Justin angered many parents and followers when he was famously photographed smoking weed while hanging out with the lyricist at a California hotel. The pair were also alleged to have been seen drinking a potent codeine and alcohol concoction known as Sizzurp.
He then caused outrage when he was pictured seemingly cupping a young fan's breast during a meet and greet session in January.
The saucy image was uploaded to his website and sparked a flurry of comments on the web, but it was later put down to a dodgy angle.
Just days prior to that incident, a US radio host accused Justin and his entourage of abusing her in the gym — and even spitting Gatorade in to her water.
These claims were once again denied by his representative.
His increasingly erratic behaviour was also highlighted when he was seen strolling around London with no top on in freezing cold temperatures as he saw in his 19th birthday in the early hours of last Friday.
Justin's lowest move yet could be seen as leaving many young fans disapppointed when he played at the 02 Arena in London on Monday night.
He didn't get on stage until 10.20pm and at the time no explanation or apology was given to thousands of angry and upset concert-goers who had forked out hundreds of pounds on tickets to see their idol.
He issued an apology for the delay on Twitter on Tuesday, playing down the lengthy time that parents and their small children were left hanging about.
Since heading to the UK for his Believe tour, Justin has regularly made headlines for some of his diva-like demands and oddball behaviour — including wearing a gas mask on a shopping trip in the capital.
