Actress Bonnie Franklin Dies at 69

Actress Bonnie Franklin has died following a battle with pancreatic cancer, according to an announcement made by her family on Friday.
The woman who played the role of divorced mom Ann Romano in the hit TV show “One Day at a Time” died at her home this morning. She was 69 years old.
Franklin’s TV debut came at age nine, but Deadline reports she was also recognized on stage and on film. Franklin was nominated for a Tony award in 1970 for her role in the musical Applause. Later on, Franklin would be nominated for an Emmy and two Golden Globes for her role in the show “One Day at a Time”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Franklin was twice married, most notably for 29 years to TV producer Marvin Minoff, who died in 2009.
Bonnie Gail Franklin was born in 1944 in California, reports the LA Times. Her father immigrated to the United States from Russia, and her mother was from Romania.
Franklin is survived by her mother, Claire, and stepchildren Jed and Julie.
