It's the guilty pleasure of many, but Ant and Dec got the chance to be American guests on The Jeremy Kyle Show.
The Geordie duo were made up with prosthetic make-up, wigs and costumes to carry out the prank for their own ITV show, Ant And Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.
Despite it being an ambitious mission, a show insider said Jeremy fell for the joke 'hook, line and sinker.'
Undercover brothers! Ant and Dec dress up in disguise to prank Jeremy Kyle on the America version of his talk show
The episode was called 'My Husband's Weird Plastic Surgery is Driving Me Away', and Dec goes on the talk show as Mike, a long-haired cat lover who tells Jeremy and the audience that he had plastic surgery to make him look more like his dead feline.
An actress is first introduced by the 47-year old host as Mike's wife Jeanne, who explained that her hubby has spent thousands of dollars on cosmetic surgery.
Continuing the facade, the 37-year old put on his best American accent to discuss his habit of eating cat food as well as using his dearly departed moggy's litter tray to relieve himself.
Fooled: Jeremy believed that Mike (Dec in disguise) spent thousands of dollars on plastic surgery to look like his cat
Catman: The 37-year old wore a wig, prosthetics and a fat suit to complete his transformation
Prank: The joke was for a sketch on Ant And Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway
Mike also doesn't like to be far away from his cat, so he carries the animal's ashes around with him in a miniature urn.
So far, Jeremy had taken the bait, but when Ant joins the stage as health and safety officer Howard does he begin to think something is going awry.
Continuing the cat theme, McPartlin, 37, tells the host that Mike is the giant feline he is in pursuit of.
In pursuit: Only when Ant came on as Howard the health and safety officer that Jeremy started to sense something was up
Caught: Cat-faced Mike gets caught in front of his 'wife' Jeanne
The fact that Jeremy thought the two were real people, just goes to show how weird and whacky the guests on his show can be at times.
A show source told the Daily Mirror: 'Jeremy fell for it hook, line and sinker and was quizzing Mike like a normal show.
'It was only when the health and safety officer put a net over him that he started to smell a rat.'
No idea: A source said that Jeremy fell for the ruse 'hook, line and sinker'
No hard feelings: The British talk show host takes the joke well once they uncover their trick
Clearly the cancer survivor took the joke well for he, Ant and Dec all posed - the Geordies still in costume - after the show.
Health and Safety officer Howard (Ant) arrived on set saying he heard there is a giant cat in the studio and stormed the stage with a giant net ready to catch the cat and shut down the show.
The full sketch will be broadcast on tonight's (Saturday March 2) Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, 7pm on ITV.
