New revelations about the King of Pop’s tragic death emerged in a civil lawsuit nearly four years after his death. Katherine Jackson’s attorney claims to have a “smoking gun” e-mail that implicates concert promoter AEG Live in Michael Jackson’s death.

Sources report the so-called “smoking-gun” e-mail that supports the Jackson family’s allegations, was written byAEG Live’s co-CEO and sent 11 days before singer’s death. It reads: "We want to remind (Murray) that it is AEG, not MJ, who is paying his salary... We want to remind him what is expected of him."

Jackson’s lawyer Kevin Boyle said Sunday:

"The truth about what happened to Michael, which AEG  has tried to keep hidden from the public since the day Michael died, is finally emerging. We look forward to the trial where the rest of the story will come to light."

Katherine Jackson, Michael Jackson’s mother, is suing the concert promoter for negligent hiring and supervision of her son’s doctor.

Since the star’s death in 2009, Jackson’s family has claimed AEG Live’s insistence on Jackson going through rehearsals caused his death. They believe the concert promoter put pressure on Doctor Murray to get Jackson ready for “This is it” tour, despite his fragile health.

According to TMZ, the lawsuit filed by Katherine Jackson and Michael Jackson’s children says AEG didn’t fulfill the contract with the singer in:

- Ensuring Michael Jackson’s physical well-being
- Properly checking Dr. Murray's background

The lawsuit also claims Michael’s suffering and eventual death caused his son Prince emotional distress.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, Yvette M. Palazuelos, denied a motion by AEG Live attorneys to dismiss the case. The judge expects Jackson’s lawyers to back up the claims in the lawsuit.

The Jackson family is suing for the benefits Michael Jackson could have generated in his expected lifetime, which could mean billions of dollars. The trial begins on April 2nd.
