Jamie Lynn Spears is Engaged to Jamie Watson

For those of you who thought you had a chance with Jamie Lynn Spears... it’s not going to happen. The 21-year-old little sister of Britney Spears announced on Twitter and Instagram she’s engaged.
Jamie released two pictures to announce her exciting news. One with her soon-to-be hubby and another of the rock on her finger saying “:) #hedidgood.” [Via: Instagram]
So who’s the lucky man? 30-year-old Jamie Watson. Aw, Jamie and Jamie, get it? Looks like they’ve been dating for around three years.
People notes Spears began dating Watson back in 2010, after she finally split from boyfriend Casey Aldridge. Aldridge is the father of Spears’ daughter, Maddie.
A blogger for Yahoo! OMG says of Watson there’s “not too much … out there about him, besides that he’s a businessman and not involved in the entertainment industry.”
This will be the first marriage for Spears. US Weekly is quick to point out the timing of her engagement comes at an interesting time in the Spears family.
Just two months earlier, Britney spears broke off her engagement with boyfriend Jason Trawick. But Britney has also been married twice before to Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline.
Jamie is currently working on launching a country music career in Nashville. ABC News notes she’s also acted in the film “Crossroads” and appeared in TV series including “All That” and “Zoey 101.”
No word yet on the date of the wedding.
