Scottish songstress KT Tunstall has split from her husband of four years, drummer Luke Bullen.

Dave Woolf told the paper: 'They are now going to proceed with a divorce. I don't know any more details.'

The singer, whose real name is Kate Victoria, began dating 39-year-old Luke back in 2003, before she hit the big time with her album Eye To The Telescope.

The couple tied the knot in a ceremony that resembled more of a music festival than a wedding on the Isle of Skye,  in 2008.

During the romantic day KT, who is from Fife, exchanged her vows in a marquee overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

The stunning location was picked after the singer fell in love with the island while on holiday there.

For their honeymoon, the couple reportedly enjoyed a backpacking trip around the world, heading off to South America, India and New Zealand.

While the pair no longer plan on being together, the first few years of marriage certainly seemed like happy ones for them.

Back in 2010 KT opened up about how her marriage had helped her beat the blues.

'Being married has been brilliant. It's been hugely liberating,' she said. 'You can waste a lot of energy wondering whether you're with the right person. Once you get married, that disappears.

'Luke's taught me to be more independent, and I'm glad he's there to keep me on the straight and narrow when we're on the road. You can't be a mess in front of the person you love.'

She also revealed that she was hoping to become a mother, saying: 'Fingers crossed, motherhood is down the line for me. It would be a brilliant next thing for me.'

The singer rose to fame in 2004 on the back of a spellbinding TV debut on BBC2's Later With Jools Holland, the Scots singer - raised by two Fife academics as Katie Tunstall after being adopted as a baby - became one of Britain's most consistent hit-makers.

A spokesperson for KT has been contacted for comment.
