Oh, Taylor. Now you’re the trouble -- aren’t you? You may remember this year’s Golden Globes when hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey poked a little fun at Taylor Swift for her extensive relationship history.
FEY: “Taylor Swift, you stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son.”
POEHLER: “Or go for it.”
FEY: “No -- she needs some me time to learn about herself!” [Via: YouTube/NBC)
Well, turns out Taylor wasn’t a big fan of the jokes -- in fact, they seem to have her seeing red, and not in the top-selling album kind of way. In a new interview with Vanity Fair, she was asked for her reaction to the comediennes’ quips.
“[Katie Couric] said to me she had heard a quote that she loved, that said, ‘There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.’” [Via: Vanity Fair]
Oh. Dang.
But, is Taylor right? Well, Hollywire says no -- that she’s playing the victim, and needs to learn to laugh at herself.
And Gawker asks -- wait, Taylor...how do you help other women??
And CinemaBlend says, Taylor: Tina and Amy have every right to criticize you -- you make your personal life part of your career.
So, seemingly, Taylor is..not...right.
Though -- Hollywood.com says even if she doesn’t know it, she’s a bit of a feminist --arguing Tina and Amy’s jokes were a little sexist.
But The LA Times points out Fey and Poehler have done a heck of a lot for women -- paving an awesome road through the comedy world for powerful females.
And with headlines about Taylor reading things like “over it” lately -- more bad press might be doing anything but helping. [Via: Huffington Post]
No weigh-in from Taylor yet. Maybe more is coming in the form of a song. [Via: Twitter]
