Tulisa Contostavlos shows off her curves in the sun by the pool in Miami

She's been courting plenty of attention since she landed in the States, and for good reason.

And today was no exception for Tulisa Contostavlos, who showed off her enviable figure in a bikini by the pool at her Miami hotel.

The singer, 23, wore a white bikini with brightly coloured tropical flowers as she sunned herself, and certainly appeared to relish picking up a tan the natural way as opposed to her usual spray job.

She showed off her slender waist and flat stomach in the Lipsy bikini as she hung out with friends, enjoying a laid-back afternoon outside.

Tulisa was probably in need of some downtime having spent the morning at the recording studio.

She left her hotel with a friend wearing a short summery dress sporting a rather garish design.

The two had obviously coordinated their outfits as they both had pink heels on and dresses of a very similar cut, though Tulisa's was far brighter.

In fact, the design was very reminiscent of Versace with its thick gold chains print and a pink tiger's head in the middle of her chest.

Yesterday she spent some time relaxing beside the pool with her PA Gareth Varey.

Prior to their arrival in Miami, Tulisa and her gang had been in Los Angeles where she was prepping her new solo album project.

She is now in Miami to shoot a music video for her first single.

As well as recording her album, she's also preparing to film the video for her first single We Are Young.

Earlier this week, she admitted she was torn between several tracks for the first release, but has obviously plumped for We Are Young.

She's been hashtagging the single on her Twitter page in the hope of getting the song trending on the micro-blogging site.

As she prepared to leave LA, she tweeted: 'On route 2 the airport! A week of studio, sun, sea & fun! Then the video shoot 4 my first single! #weareyoung #wereinmiamib**ch.'

And once she arrived in Florida, she was met by the paparazzi and some bemused tourists who bumped into the singer in the airport toilets.

She wrote on Twitter: 'I am hiding in a Miami airport toilet...swamped by Americans that have no idea who I am, can the ground open up already #awkward.
