Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck welcomed their third child Monday night; the couple already had 6-year-old Violet and 3-year-old Seraphina. HLN reports on their latest addition.
“A brand new baby boy. Garner had the baby in Santa Monica, Calif., it’s their third child, and their first son.”
Garner first announced she was expecting back in August. In January, she admitted to knowing the sex of her baby — but said she was keeping it a secret. But People Magazine looks back at what the couple had said about the possibility of a bouncing baby boy:
“‘It would be so weird to have a boy,’ the actress told Ellen DeGeneres, but also said the experience would be ‘cool and different.’ … Affleck, in turn, said in 2010 that the three-against-one female-to-male ratio in his house leaves him significantly outnumbered.”
The big question, though — what’s the baby’s name? The most recent celeb couple to set the baby name bar were Jay-Z and Beyonce with “Blue Ivy” -- and Garner had hinted at something kooky. WSVN reports:
“ … Garner had joked before their daughters were rooting for the name Donald Duck Affleck.”
But -- the baby boy’s name is a little more traditional -- it’s Samuel. Garner and Affleck, both 39, married in 2005.
