The Oscars bring out some of Hollywood’s biggest names. And some of Hollywood’s formerly big names, like Sean Young. KABC reports the “Blade Runner” actress made a scene at the Governor’s Ball – the big event held for Oscar attendees only – Sunday night.

“Police say she fought with a security guard when she couldn’t get into the party. She was taken into custody and booked on misdemeanor battery charges.”

USA Today reports the arrest was a little unusual.

“…[Young] was arrested, in a citizen's arrest, at 9:25 p.m. Sunday and was booked at the Hollywood police station … City News Service says she posted $ 20,000 bail and was released at 2:55 a.m. today.”

The security guard Young fought with after allegedly trying to sneak into the ball reportedly issued the citizen’s arrest. TMZ followed Young to the police department, where she gave a … statement about the incident.

SEAN YOUNG: “The Academy recommends that its lawyers recommend that they be carted off to spend four hours at the Hollywood police. Shame on you.”

A NextMovie blogger runs us through Young’s night pre-arrest, suggesting she deserved to be removed from the party.

“…word on the street is that Young was acting, umm, erratic all night, hitting up pretty much every celebrity there … she apparently told Angelina Jolie, ‘Darling, we have the same hairdresser, and girls like us need help with our hair.’ Umm. No comment.”

Young’s no stranger to erratic behavior. She infamously paraded around Hollywood dressed as Catwoman in hopes of landing a role in the early ‘90s Batman films. And The Hollywood Reporter reminds us her antics don’t stop there.

“Young, who has tried to live down a reputation as somewhat of a loose cannon, made headlines in 2006 when she attempted to get into the ultra-VIP Vanity Fair Oscar party without an invite. Two years later, she entered rehab for alcohol abuse after being asked to leave the [Director’s Guild] Awards.”

If it’s any consolation to Young, whose more recent credits include “Skating with the Stars” and “Celebrity Rehab,” The LA Times reports she wasn’t the only one arrested on Oscar night.

“[Police] sources said Young was one of 10 people arrested in connection with Sunday night's awards ceremony. Of those arrested, charges included trespassing, robbery and forgery, related to fake credentials.”

Young is reportedly seeking a formal apology from the Academy for the incident. She’ll be in court March 19 for a hearing on the charges.
