It is quite a common thing today that a lot of celebrities and entertainers are coming out of the closet to reveal their sexual preferences. Some of the famous people that this list includes are Anderson Cooper, Elton John, Neil Patrick Harris, and others. They have been successful in their careers and braved the odds of the society to stand out in the open. The list is exhaustive but here we look at the top ten celebrities of all times who are gay.

He is the son of the great Gloria Vanderbilt, who was a renowned fashion icon. This American journalist and TV presenter was born on 3 June 1967. He is a distinguished anchor of the news channel CNN. He has supported and brought forward the LGBT issues and fought against anti-gay sentiments. He does not speak about his gay life publicly. He uses this part of his decision to portray himself as a non-biased person in order to carry forward and promote the LGBT issues. He is more lovingly known as “The Silver Fox”.

Since then, he has never looked back. He was previously married to Renate Blauel but they separated after a few years. He then announced his sexual preference as bisexual and was completely open about it. Currently he is in a relationship with David Furnish.

He is open about his relationship with his boyfriend David Burtka and has been seen attending the 2007 Emmy Awards with him. He has been at the receiving end of a number of Emmy Awards in a row from 2007 to 2010 for his outstanding acting. It is a great news that the couple is expecting twins from a surrogate mother.

He was the founder of the Stonewall Group whereby he tried to fight for equality of the gay community. He was awarded Special Service Award in 1988 for his campaigning work by the American Association of Physicians for Human Rights and Gay Medical Association. Michael is living with his partner Paul. They have been together for 18 years.
