Lily Cole vamps it up in The Moth Diaries

The psychological thriller sees the model-turned-actress taking on a new gothic image to play the role of a sinister vampire.

Based on the novel of the same name by US author Rachel Klein, the movie is directed by Mary Harron of American Psycho fame.

The story focuses on Rebecca, played by Sarah Bolger, who is sent to boarding school because "my father had just died, my mother was a wreck."

You just know there's a fright in store when Rebecca reveals that nobody comes to the school "unless something bad has happened to them"

When new girl Ernessa Block (Lily) arrives, she sparks curiosity amongst her fellow pupils with her dark and mysterious persona.

And it's not long before their curiosity turns to fear as the full extent of her darkside starts to manifest.

In one scene she is seen singing a delightful ditty to classmate Rebecca, with the spine-tingling words "My mother she butchered me, my father he ate me..."

And English teacher Mr Davies (Scott Speedman) sets the scene perfectly as he tells his class "there are three things you find in every vampire story, sex, blood and death."

Watch it if you dare.
