Jennifer Metcalfe: Samia’s kicked me in the teeth
JILTED soap star Jennifer Metcalfe is "in bits" after being dumped by her Dancing On Ice lover Sylvain Longchambon.
The French skater ditched the Hollyoaks actress after "developing feelings" for his new dance partner — Corrie beauty Samia Ghadie.
Pals said Jennifer, 29, was devastated by the split from Sylvain — who she met and fell in love with when they were partners on the ITV1 show two years ago.
A source revealed last night: "Jennifer is absolutely gutted. She just did not see this coming. She is in bits. She feels she has been kicked in the teeth and is devastated."
Sylvain, 32, called from France to deliver the devastating news on Friday. He was on a break after weeks spent rehearsing with Samia for a new series of Dancing On Ice.
The Sun revealed yesterday Samia, 30, is single again after splitting from former Corrie co-star Will Thorp earlier this month.
The source said: "They have been training together since October so it is pretty quick for people to start having strong feelings for each other."
Jennifer has been putting on a brave face while she stars in panto in Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear. Friends and family travelled from her home town Bradford to take her out for a meal after Saturday's show.
The source added: "The first thing the girls did was to make sure she had a shoulder to cry on.
"They took her out for a nice meal and a few drinks and helped her put the world to rights.
"The pain is very real at the moment but Jennifer is gorgeous, talented and a lovely person so it is his loss in the end — not hers.
"But it's going to be tough to see Samia and Sylvain skating together."
Last night sources close to Sylvain and Samia denied the pair were already an item — but said they "wouldn't be surprised" if a romance developed.
One pal told The Sun: "Samia is adamant she has done nothing wrong, but she admits she's close to Sylvain and that he has been a rock to her since her relationship broke down with Will.
"They clearly have chemistry and they are both single. If they want to get together, then why not? No one can say what will happen in the future, but they aren't an item yet."
The revelations may have hit Samia's chances of winning Dancing On Ice, which starts on Sunday. Before the news broke the actress, who lives in Cheshire with her three-year-old daughter, was one of the favourites to win.
But a spokeswoman for Ladbrokes said: "Hardly any money has been placed on Samia to win since this came out."
