It's been an exciting year for Sofia Vergara and the newly-engaged, Emmy nominated actress, who turned 40 last month, looked radiant in New York today.

The TV actress was wearing a form fitting royal blue dress with sheer sleeves that showed off her famous curves and a pair of peep-toe metallic platform pumps.

Sofia let her long highlighted locks fall loosely to her shoulder and carried her favourite $ 2200 white Fendi handbag monogrammed with her initials .

The Modern Family star, who was at the ABC studios in New York City, was asked about her she maintained her enviable curves but gave very little away.

Sofia said: 'It has to be in moderation.I don't think women my age - I'm forty-years-old - you can't live your life working out and dieting like crazy.'

She added: 'I enjoy life, I have my food that I like, I have some wine and I work out when I can.'

'I try to make an effort - but I don't go crazy with it.'

In the interview, the Colombian beauty was also discussed her Emmy nomination and said: 'Honesty I feel like I already won, being able to be a part of 'Modern Family.'

'I never dreamed in my life that I was gonna be part of a show like this with all this success, with all this love, you know, that the people have for the show and my character.'

Sofia added, 'Just to be able to go to the Emmy's I mean for me is like the biggest reward.'
