Hip-Hop Mogul Chris Lightly Dies in Suspected Suicide

Iconic hip-hop mogul Chris Lighty, who managed hip-hop stars such as LL Cool J, 50 Cent and Mariah Carey, is suspected of committing suicide, Thursday. Here’s WLNY.
"The body of 44 year-old Chris Lighty was found in his Bronx apartment Thursday...Police say the shooting appears to be self inflicted.”
Sources say no note or any signs of forced entry were found. KAMC reports police suspect Lighty shot himself with a 9mm handgun found in his apartment.
“Police say Lighty was found with a gunshot wound at his head. He was pronounced dead on the scene where a semi-automatic firearm was recovered.”
Some reports claim the incident occurred after an argument with his estranged wife. WNYW reports the couple split about a year ago and were in the process of moving out.
“He told her ‘I’m tired of this’ then went down stairs. Sources say Mrs. Lighty claims she heard the sound of a gun then found him on the floor bleeding from his head...those who knew Chris Lighty well aren’t buying it.”
Lighty was also reportedly having financial problems, owing more than $ 5 million to the IRS. Coroners have not yet confirmed it was a suicide. An autopsy is set for Friday.
