The legendary Clint Eastwood had an impressive career, appearing in 67 films, directing 35 more and taking home 4 oscars but at the RNC Thursday night he had a career first, creating an viral internet sensation.

Clint Eastwood gave a speech endorsing Mitt Romney.  During this speech, he spoke to an empty chair, pretending it was President Barack Obama. Memorial lines included: (Video Source: C-SPAN)

“Well I know even some of the people in your own party were very disappointed when you didn’t close GitMo....What do you mean shut up?"

"What?...What do you want me to tell Romney?... You're absolutely crazy.  You're getting as bad as Biden."

WTAP explains what eastwooding is.

“A new word has even been coined overnight -- Eastwooding. These photos have been posted online of people pointing at empty chairs just like clint. this one was taken on the floor of the convention.”

A new Twitter account was also born from the interview of an empty seat: invisibleobama.  ABC says both the hashtag and the twitter account have quickly gained support.

“The account had gained more than 20,000 followers in 45 minutes and had been mentioned more than 10,000 times on Twitter. And its counterpart, #eastwooding, has prompted tweeters to post pictures of empty chairs either in support of or to mock Eastwood’s provocative ‘interview.’”

President Obama even got in on the joke, tweeting: “This Seat’s Taken.”

Entertainment Tonight reports the Hollywood star’s speech was a surprise to everyone.

“He went unscripted and long. the tv's production team tried to wrap him up. I saw the red blinking for seven, eight maybe minutes like ‘get off-stage and he just kept going on and on.’”

E! picked out their top five ‘eastwooding’ memes.  Including...

1. McKayla Maroney’s infamous scowl from the London Olympics.

2. Princess Leia saying “There was definitely some sort of force with Eastwood last night...”

3. Barack Obama himself

and

5. Keanu Reeves getting a lecture from Eastwood.

No you shut up.
