Once boyish Matthew Perry looks washed out and bloated

The actor, 42, was snapped in Washington D.C. at the National Association of Drug Court Professionals and the House Addiction, Treatment and Recovery Caucus.

During speeches in favour of drug court funding, the troubled star appeared bloated, grey and exhausted - and years older than his sexy former co-stars despite being the youngest member of the cast.

Perry played wise-cracking Chandler Bing in the show - whose theme tune was I'll Be There For You - for ten years from 1994.

But he went through a series of health crises before cameras stopped rolling on the hit sitcom in 2004.

He completed a 28-day programme in 1997 for Vicodin addiction and then another stint in rehab for addiction to opioids and alcohol in 2001.

He was hospitalised again in 2002 while filming Serving Sara with Elizabeth Hurley and checked himself into a rehab facility in Marina del Rey, California.

Perry has also battled huge weight loss and gains throughout his career.
