The British Royal Family has always held the law that the immediate heir is the first-born son of the monarch, but that’s all changing. According to the new unanimously-approved amendment, Prince William and Kate Middleton's first-born daughter could ascend to be queen someday. British Prime Minister David Cameron explained, "Put simply, if the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were to have a little girl, that girl would one day be our queen." During a speech, Queen Elizabeth praised the decision. “It reminds us of the potential in our societies that is yet to be fully unlocked, and it encourages us to find ways to allow girls and women to play their full part."
