Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries to divorce
The reality TV babe only wed basketball player Kris in a fairytale ceremony on August 20.
The lavish wedding netted the couple a reported $ 18million (£11million) from magazine deals, TV coverage and endorsements.
Kim, 31, is said to have filed for divorce today citing "irreconcilable differences".
Ryan Seacrest, the executive producer for Kim's reality TV show, confirmed the news.
He tweeted: "Yes Kim Kardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in a few minutes."
It is believed the beauty will be represented in the divorce proceedings by attorney Laura Wasser, who has previously aided stars including Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie and Ryan Reynolds.
The Sun reported earlier this month how rumours were rife that the pair's marriage was under strain.
NBA star Kris was spotted carting his possessions out of the Manhattan hotel they shared without his wedding ring on.
He was seen carrying cardboard boxes and a suitcase out of the residence at New York's Gansevoort Hotel, where they were staying while Kim filmed her reality show.
Kim also confessed recently that her married life was not "ideal" as being in the public eye has put a strain on her relationship.
Friends claimed that the pair have barely spent any time together since they tied the knot.
Shortly after attending the Midori Green Halloween soiree in Las Vegas alone on Saturday, the petite beauty - who dressed as Poison Ivy - told how it was difficult being separated because of their hectic schedules.
She said: "It's always tough when you're apart, but we do what we can to try and spend time together and make that time for each other."
But a source told a US magazine the pair had a fiery argument earlier this month.
They said: "They are not getting along at all. She told him he need to do something productive. He needs to get off his ass, like, yesterday."
Kim exchanged vows with 26-year-old Kris in the star-studded ceremony in Montecito, California.
The pair began dating in 2010 and got engaged in May, when Kris presented her with a custom-designed, 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring.
This was the second marriage for Kim, who was wed to music producer Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2004.
She was also romantically linked to R&B singer Ray J, who appeared with her in a leaked sex tape, and she had an on-off relationship with NFL star Reggie Bush that ended in 2009.
