With a tight and – comparatively – youthful backing band in place, the elder statesman of shock-rock was free to twirl his baton to a thumping No More Mr Nice Guy, while Poison came close to raising the dead.

Deranged psychedelic legend Arthur Brown unexpectedly popped up during the encore – flames blazing from his bonce – for a run-through of his 1968 hit Fire.
Entertainingly ludicrous and ludicrously entertaining, a real ghouls' night out.
