It's Memorial Day Weekend – already! Welcome to the "unofficial" start of summer. There's a lot to pack into a three day weekend but you'll find a little something for everyone right here. From great music to a craft festival, lilac festival and oh - a mud run and smoke show (yes, you read that right), we're pretty sure you'll be able to find something fun to do! Z.Z. Top and 3 Doors Down with Gretchen Wilson will rock the stage at the Verizon Wireless Arena this weekend as they kick off their "Gang of Outlaws" tour in Manchester. Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Z.Z. Top are best known for their hits "Legs," "Sharp Dressed Man," "Gimme All Your Lovin'" and "Tush" - to name only a few! Come see these bearded musicians rock out. 3 Doors Down are known for their #1 smash-hits, "Kryptonite," "When I'm Gone" and "Here Without You." And country-rocker Gretchen Wilson is known for her breakthrough hit, "Redneck Woman," which has become a country music anthem. Wilson always puts on one heck of a party! Whose Live Anyway? With Ryan Stiles and Gregg Proops will offer a performance this weekend at the Colonial Theatre in Keene. The show will be a hilarious night of improvised comedy and song based solely on audience suggestions. How fun is that? We'll tell you! Featuring comedians Ryan Stiles, Gregg Proops, Chip Esten and Jeff B. Davis, the show is a play on television's "Whose Line Is It?" with new improv added in. You'll be howling by the end. Tickets are $ 35-59.

The 21st Annual Memorial Day Weekend Craft Festival will take place at Mill Falls Marketplace in Meredith this weekend. The show will feature over 100 juried craftsmen and women from all over New England showcasing and selling their work including country woodcrafts, pottery, jewelry, cut eggs, blown glass, soy candles and so much more. Come spend this beautiful weekend beside Lake Winnipesaukee and enjoy the beautiful work of these talented artists. Admission is free.

Bring the whole family out to the annual Wildquack Duck River Festival in Jackson Village Park this weekend. Buy a duck and watch as 3,500 ducks race to the finish line. You may even win a great prize! There will also be entertainment, a silent auction, a baked goods table, an obstacle course put together by the Jackson Fire Department, pony rides and the 3rd annual Jackson Cake Boss Competition, which will feature bakers competing for the title of "Jackson's Cake Boss." Where there's smoke, there's....mud?!

The Northern Tire Mud Run and Smoke Show will roar through Colebrook's Northern Tire this weekend. This has become one popular event! The mud put will be dug out, filled with fresh screened mud and will be ready for the 4x4's big and small who try to make it through without being towed out. On the pavement there will be a smoke show for those willing to burn the rubber off what's left of their tires. Fortunately, they are at a tire shop when they do! Come out and do something different this holiday weekend. Admission is free.

The Wentworth-Coolidge Lilac Festival will be held this weekend at the Wentworth-Coolidge Mansion in Portsmouth. The event has grown over the years and now, in addition to lectures about lilacs and history, the festival includes an alpaca petting zoo, art projects for children and sales of many lilac varieties, including plants descended from our 250 year old heirloom lilacs. Admission is free.

Head to the Country Throwdown with Gary Allan at U.S. Cellular Pavillion in Gilford this weekend. The concert will feature Allan, who hit the honky tonk circuit at the ripe ol' age of 12 and released his first album in 1996. He's since produced 24 hit singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including three that reached number one. Also taking the stage will be Justin Moore, Josh Thompson, Corey Smith, Sunny Sweeney, Eric Paslay and Florida-Georgia Line. Tickets are $ 25-59.

Come to Waterville Valley for their 23rd Annual Chowderfest and Brews event this weekend. The weekend will be filled with activities including a youth fishing derby but lets be honest, everyone's coming for the chowder. Be sure to remember our Veterans and the sacrifices that have been made this weekend by attending a Memorial Day Weekend Parade. There are also a number of other remembrances taking place across the state so please check with your local town hall to find out what's being planned. The events include fireworks, free admission to Blue Star Museums for military personnel and their families, and a community event in Manchester's Veterans Park with entertainment by the National Guard Band and other musicians, martial arts demonstrations, a chance to explore a black hawk helicopter and see an Army Humvee up close and more. Most importantly, don't ever forget.
