Cheryl Cole plays her style straight in stripes but makes a fruity fashion statement with apple earrings

Over the weekend she took to the stage in an elaborate 'sexy genie' ensemble.

But when she's not performing Cheryl Cole has been sporting a simple style and was seen stepping out in stripes earlier today.

The 28-year-old was seen leaving the BBC studios in a white dress with pink and black lines.

Cheryl added fruity accessories in the form of apple-shaped earrings, which she was seen wearing on the X Factor in 2010.

The Call My Name singer was at the studio to per-record a Radio Two interview.

The singer recently revealed her pet dog Buster is gay.

The 28-year-old singer opened up about her chihuahua's sexual preference in an new interview.

Speaking in a new interview with Attitude magazine Cheryl said: 'I have two chihuahuas, Buster and Coco, and I have two Jack Russells.'

'Buster is definitely gay. He loves the other boys.'

Cheryl, who performed her new track Call My Name on The Voice over the weekend after a hiatus from the stage, also spoke to the gay magazine about X Factor.

Simon Cowell drafted the Geordie star as a judge for the initial series of X Factor in the US, but she was replaced by Nicole Scherinzger after just a few days on the job.

She said: 'That show can drive anybody mental.'

But Cheryl still remained tight lipped on how she feels about the sacking.

'I haven't said anything about X Factor USA from that day to this.'

'Why? Boring. It's year-old news. I've made a whole new album since then.'

The singer also labelled Rhianna 'a free spirit' for the way she doesn't hold back on Twitter.

Cheryl said the Barbadian star: 'Doesn't care is she calls somebody a c*** on Twitter, ' before adding, 'but there are 12-year-old girls on there'.
