Edited-out gun scenes are restored in Steven Spielberg's classic move E.T
CLASSIC film E.T. has had scenes showing guns restored — after the weapons were edited out ten years ago.
Fans were furious after a 2002 version of the Steven Spielberg movie digitally replaced firearms with walkie-talkies to get a U certificate.
It came during the famous scene where main character Elliott, played by Henry Thomas, flies from gun-toting police on his bicycle with loveable alien E.T.
The film will once again be rated PG for the 30th anniversary Blu-ray release on November 12.
A Universal Studios spokesman said: "E.T. brought out the child in all of us."
