Simon Cowell says sorry to those who book ‘embarrassed’
The talent show supremo, who arrived at London's Serpentine Gallery, in a Rolls-Royce, admitted he hid under his "pillow" during The Sun's serialisation of the unauthorised biography.
But he also revealed the author Tom Bower has become a pal. The book details the X Factor star's fling with Dannii Minogue, tells how he wanted to bed Cheryl Cole and sack Gary Barlow.
Speaking at the Serpentine Gallery in London, he said: "I wish to publicly apologise to anyone I embarrassed. Ten years ago if I had read someone would be writing a book about me saying I made loads of money and shagged loads of girls I would have said, 'Great!'"
Cowell also told friends, including F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, Topshop boss Philip Green and his daughter Chloe: "I spent the week hiding under a pillow and I couldn't bear to look at The Sun. I knew it was bad because friends were sending me sweet messages saying, 'Are you OK?'"
