Kate Upton overshadows other stars in elegant turquoise dress at White House Correspondents event

The White House Correspondents Weekend is always packed with Hollywood's elite, which makes it that much harder to stand out from the crowd.

However despite being relatively new to the celebrity circuit, Kate Upton managed to do just that tonight.

The Sports Illustrated model decided to forgo her usual sexy attire and looked almost unrecognisable in a demure outfit as she attended a party to kick off the weekend.

The 19-year-old was stunning in an elegant turquoise frock which featured a flirty pleated skirt.

She accessorised with a pair of simple black ballet pumps, a miniature gold clutch bag, and swept her blonde locks into a messy updo.

Meanwhile 'momager' Kris Jenner was theme appropriate in a white dress, with the bandage style number clinging to her every curve.

Kerry Washington opted for a royal purple shift dress and Kelli Garner chose to colour block in a red halterneck top and indigo maxi skirt.

Other celebrities in attendance included Gayle King and Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

While some stars were dressed to impress at the evening, others were making their way to Washington later.

Several celebrities were spotted in casual travelling outfits as they touched down into the capital after catching flights from Los Angeles.

Robert Pattinson looked scruffy in a beige shirt and jeans which he wore with a baseball cap and sunglasses.

Meanwhile his Water For Elephants co-star Reese Witherspoon also went incognito as she arrived into Washington airport with husband Jim Toth.

True Blood's Ryan Kwanten was also spotted stepping off the plane, along with Lindsay Lohan's lawyer Shawn Holley.

However Lindsay was nowhere in sight after reportedly missing her plane following a night of partying in Hollywood.
