Alex Reid slams reports that he has called off his wedding to Miss Houghton

He's a man who is used to making the headlines whether for good or bad reasons and is usually one to shrug things off.

But Alex Reid was forced to come out fighting today after reports claimed that he had called off his wedding to Chantelle Houghton.

The cagefighter took to his Twitter page to defend himself after it was suggested that he had put a stop to their nuptials because her friends were interfering too much in their relationship.

According to the Sun, Alex, 36, said he didn't want to marry 28-year-old Chantelle, who is due to give birth to their first child this summer, because of her pals 'poking their noses' in.

A source told the paper that Alex had told a friend: 'I've told Chantelle I'm not marrying her when things are like this.

'Friends keep pushing her to say things about us that aren't true and keep poking their noses into our lives no matter how much it hurts me.'

But today, Alex hit back at the report and took to his Twitter page to deny the story.

He said: 'Who evers the source who said Ive called the wedding off,please step forward? Not very nice& how do u think Chantelle will feel?(sic)'

He also had to deny that he'd wished ex-wife Katie Price's new fiancé a sarcastic 'good luck' after the glamour model announced she would be marrying her Argentinean toyboy Leandro Penna.

The Sunday Mirror said that Alex wished Penna, 26, good luck but then added: 'You'll need it.'

A source told the paper that Alex had told a friend that hearing the news was a 'kick in the teeth' and said her third marriage wouldn't last.

They added: 'Alex thinks it's a good thing Katie and Leandro talk different languages and don't understand each other because he doubts Leandro would stay long.'

But Alex was forced to defend himself again and took to his Twitter once more to write: 'Just had google alert about my comments on KP & Leandro.Well I never did say those things,not even on my radar,& certainly not kick in teeth.

'I really couldn't care less bout my ex or whatever she's doing,& as 4 my Chantelle,I'm totally madly deeply in love with her.'
