Digging up Disney Treasure

Disney on Ice presents Treasure Trove for several shows this weekend at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester. Discover endless riches when an extraordinary lineup of stories comes to life on the ice. Get tangled up in Disney's 50th animated feature – with Rapunzel and Flynn – plus enter the worlds of your favorite Disney princesses, including Jasmine, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Snow White. There will be lots of other characters to tantalize you too; Alice and the Mad Hatter, Captain Hook, Simba, Tinkerbell and many more will take to the ice to tell their stories. Tickets are $ 15-75.

John Waite will put on a long a-Waite-d performance at the Palace Theatre in Manchester this weekend. He was the lead singer of The Babys and the 80s supergroup Bad English. His hits include the number one "Missing You," as well as, "When I See You Smile" and "Every Time I Think of You." In 2011, he released Rough and Tumble, his tenth studio album, and it went to number one on Classic Rock Radio. You really don't wa! nt to miss this intimate show with one of the 80s best rock vocalists. Tickets are $ 29.50-49.50.

Blue Oyster Cult will perform this weekend at the Flying Monkey Performance Center in Plymouth. Since releasing their self-titled debut album in 1972, the band has sold more than 24 million albums and cemented themselves into rock n roll history with hits like "Godzilla," "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" and "Burnin' for You." Their music has been covered many times by many different artists and they have influenced generations of musicians. Now see this legendary band perform this up-close-and-personal show. Tickets are $ 59 and up.

The New Hampshire Coin and Currency Expo will take place at the Radisson Expo in Manchester this weekend. The show, which will feature many exhibitors and collectors, along with many opportunities to buy, sell and trade coins, gold and silver bullion and rare currency, is fun for all ages. If you already collect, you won't want to miss it, but if you have yet to learn about numismatics, or turn your son or daugh! ter onto ! this great hobby, now is your chance. As winter deepens, this is the perfect time to pick up an indoor hobby. There will be a host of guest speakers, a free Children's Introduction to Coin Collecting Program on Saturday morning, and educational exhibits too. Come check it out! Admission is $ 3 per day, $ 5 for the weekend. Children under 12 are free.

See Tom Rush at the Silver Center for the Arts in Plymouth this weekend. Rush, who hails from the Granite State, and is a gifted musician with a flair for storytelling, has been captivating audiences with some of folk music's iconic sounds and lyrics for five decades. He helped shape the folk revival of the 60's and then the renaissance of the 80s and 90s. Come celebrate this 50 year milestone with him. Tickets are $ 35 for adults, $ 33 for seniors, $ 20 for youth.

The Pontine Theatre presents World of Wonder with Leland Faulkner this weekend in Portsmouth. The show is a one-man, family-friendly extravaganza, a journey around the world – illustrated with mime and magic. Faulkner is a man of a thousand faces. Comic characters, fantastic imagery, and wonderful mysteries are the map to Leland Faulkner's World of Wonder. He's stirred the imaginations of audiences around the world. Get All Shook Up with the Broadway musical comedy at the Rochester Opera House this weekend. The production features twenty-four Elvis classics like "Heartbr! eak Hotel! ," "Love Me Tender" and "Don't Be Cruel." The show, about a motorcycling, guitar-playing roustabout who blows into town and meets Natalie, a young mechanic, will have you jumping out of your seats. Natalie thinks Chad is the best-looking man she's ever seen and he's looking for excitement, but the mayor has outlawed fun. See what unfolds when the town gets "All Shook Up." Tickets are$ 15-25.

The Capitol Steps return to the Music Hall in Portsmouth this weekend for two shows to benefit affordable housing development sponsored by The Housing Partnership. It's all the political comedy you can handle wrapped up into a musical show that will have you rolling with laughter. The 'Steps' are a bi-partisan troupe from Washington, D.C. Fresh off an election year, they have plenty of topics to poke fun at, and this show – like every one before it – promises an evening of fun at the expense of our politicians on both sides of the aisle. The 2013 Penguin Plunge takes place at Hampton Beach this weekend. This annual fundraiser, the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Special Olympics of New Ham! pshire, w! ill be as wacky and fun as ever. This year's theme is "Going to the Chapel," and there will be a costume parade before the big plunge into the Atlantic Ocean.
