Emma Watson turns up to The Perks Of Being A Wallflower premiere in odd dress and pants combo

On Wednesday morning she showed up to talk all about her new movie The Perks Of Being A Wallflower at Radio 1 dressed in geek chic with her spectacles and coat.

But fast forward a few hours and Emma Watson decided to dress to the nines as she took to the red carpet to promote the film on Wednesday night.

But the Harry Potter actress appeared to have forgotten to take her trousers off as she showed up looking stunning in black... but wearing both a dress and long pants to the glitzy event.

It could be that she was simply trying to make a style statement but it rather made her look confused as she matched her black trousers to her strapless frock.

From her knees upward, Emma looked stunning and like she was playing it safe in the Dior ensemble with the sweetheart neckline.

Her cropped hair seems to have grown out slightly, which she wore wavy and pinned to the sides.

That's better! Her top half looked elegant as she appeared to just be wearing a strapless frock with her cropped hair do

Smiling sweetly the 22-year-old accessorised with an intricate silver pendant in the shape of a key and kept her make-up low-key.

But as eyes moved downwards it became evident Emma had not only worn a dress to the screening but also a pair of trousers worn underneath it or even especially stitched to the gown.

Although she still looked glamorous and grown up with her skyhigh heels finishing off the look.

And fans of the star will see her more grown up when her new film hits cinema screens.

As Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, Watson wasn't required to do many kissing scenes.

So when it came to puckering up with her co-star in her latest movie The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, Emma admitted she found the scene more than a little difficult.

Emma revealed during an interview with Nick Grimshaw on his new Radio 1 breakfast show on the morning of the premiere that she just can't watch when the passionate scene comes on during the movie.

She said: 'It's really funny because when I watch the film back, there are a few things I can't watch. I can't watch the Rocky Horror dancing scene, and I can't watch the kissing scenes.'

Emma sports a corset and lashings of make-up as she channels Susan Sarandon in the Rocky Horror tribute scene, and said that she found it tough getting in touch with her physical side for the moves.

She added: 'This film really pushed me out of my comfort zone. I told the director that I have just come from playing Hermione Granger and you are expecting me to dance and putting me in corsets, and it's difficult.'

Meeting and greeting: Emma took the time to sign autographs for her waiting fans as she left the interview and headed to a press junket for the movie

Another thing Emma struggled with in the film was mastering the American accent, although the British star said she did enlist the help of her friends at college in the States to get it right.

She said: 'I had help from my college friends with the accent but I really lost sleep over it and was very concerned about making sure the American accent was peachy. I worked with a voice coach too.'

And while Emma has earned herself legions of admirers thanks to her slim figure, she admitted that there is one thing she just can't live without when it comes to her treats.

Asked if there was one food she would happily eat for the rest of her life, Emma replied: 'It would have to be the Heinz baked beans - the ones with the pork sausages. And toast. So I guess it would be two items.'

Emma, who is in the UK especially for the premiere, admitted it can be daunting to prepare for such a huge red carpet event.

She said: 'It's really full on - you have to treat it like an out of body experience - a very surreal hour or two and then normal life resumes, ish!

'But after Harry Potter, nothing will ever be as scary and mental as that!'

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower is released in the UK on 3rd October.
