Practice for The Ryder Cup didn’t start out too well for Tiger Woods. News 12 and The Examiner explain what went wrong for the golf star.
“Tiger Woods knocked out a fan at the Ryder Cup Tournament. during practice, a tee shot went wild and hit that fan in the head.”
“...his wild tee shot ricocheted off a spectator whose knees immediately buckled as he passed out.”
The wild tee shot was hit at the 18th hole at Medinah Country Club. The fan was taken to first aid and monitored after he was hit in the head. USA Today reports Woods was very apologetic.
“The spectator, identified as Larry Johnson, told Woods that it wasn't his fault, but Woods drew a laugh by saying yes it was. … Woods repeatedly apologized to the fan.”
Woods did give Johnson a signed glove for his pain and suffering. The Ryder Cup kicks off tomorrow in Chicago.
