David Beckham and Prince William cheer on Team GB footie team at Wembley
DAVID Beckham gives the thumbs up to Team GB with son Brooklyn – despite being left out of the team by Stuart Pearce.
The LA Galaxy legend was flanked by the teenager and Prince William as they watched the lads beat the United Arab Emirates 3-1 at Wembley Stadium.
There were clearly no hard feelings towards the team as the snubbed star enjoyed the match with his royal pal.
The two men have become friends after working closely together on the failed World Cup 2018 bid and the successful London 2012 Games campaign.
And they looked like they'd been swapping sartorial tips as they turned up in similar dark blazers and white shirts, although David – being used to the LA sunshine – added a jumper to compensate for the London chill.
The 37-year-old father-of-four, who carried the Olympic torch up the Thames in a speedboat during the opening ceremony on Friday, has been working hard as an ambassador for the games.
Last week he got a hug from First Lady Michelle Obama when they met a training base in East London.
On Tuesday he and boxing legend Muhammad Ali presented an award to Afghan refugee Matiullah Haidar, who runs a cricket project for fellow refugees.
Becks may not have made the final team, but he got plenty of support from the crowd, with some wearing masks of his face to drive home the point.
He was delighted to see former Manchester United teammate Ryan Giggs score the first goal at the Wembley match last night.
But Brooklyn, dressed in a blue checked shirt, looked less than thrilled to be at the London Olympics.
The 13-year-old sat grim-faced throughout the match and failed to put his hands together as dad and Prince William applauded the goals.
Maybe he thought dad should be on the pitch too.
