Kristen Stewart's cheating on Robert Pattinson was her looking for an 'easy way out' claims relationship expert

Kristen Stewart's danergous liaison with Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders could have been an act of self sabotage, celebrity relationship expert Dr Gilda Carle has claimed.

According to Carle, who has worked with a variety of famous faces in the past, Kristen's rather public indiscretion with Sanders was a deliberate attempt to distance herself from her highly publicised off-screen relationship with Robert Pattinson.

Carle added that Kristen's tender age, she's just 22, and the fact that she has known little other than her four-year relationship with Pattinson, are probably the reasons behind her straying.

An emphatic Carle weighed into the story that has stunned the showbiz world.

She told E! News: 'Kristen doesn't belong in a committed relationship. She's 22 years old.

'She's been in a committed relationship for 4 years - much too young to making a commitment. She's a child.

'She did this very public thing with director in order to be found out. It was self-sabotage.'

Carle also suggested that Kristen specifically chose a married man to cheat on with Pattinson with so that she wouldn't be tempted to jump into another relationship after the actor.

She said: 'She did it so she could have an easy out. But of course it wasn't thought through; she's very immature.

'Transparent': Dr Carle said Kristen specifically chose to cheat with a married man

'She had no idea that this would be so transparent to everybody.

'It was important to her to know she was still attractive to other guys.

'But obviously Kristen isn't looking for a relationship right now, so she picks a guy who is married.'

And when it comes to answering the question on everybody's lips - whether Pattinson will take Kristen back - Carle says that even if he does, the relationship is unlikely to last.

She said: 'If Rob takes her back it will be more of the same.

'She was playing a role of a girlfriend who claimed that she was committed, but she wasn't committed. She just needs to grow up.'

The showbiz world was left stunned earlier this week when the pictures of Kristen and director Sanders were photographed kissing in Los Angeles the week before.

Following the pictures, which were published in Us Weekly magazine, Kristen released a statement expressing her anguish over her 'indiscretion'.

She said: 'I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused.

'This momentary indiscretion has jeopardised the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob.

'I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry.'

And according to new reports, the public statement from Kristen was a demand from Pattinson after he first saw the pictures of his girlfriend kissing Sanders.

Pattinson has yet to comment on Kristen's behaviour himself, and has not been seen in public since the story first broke.
