Billie Joe Armstrong Mentors in New Season of NBC’s The Voice
Last Thursday, NBC has officially announced that Greenday vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong will become part of its hit talent show "The Voice" on its third season. He will be playing the role of mentor under Team Christina Aguilera (or Team Xtina) for next season.
Armstrong himself is thrilled about being part of the show as he admits to be a fan of it, as well.
According to Armstrong, "The Voice" has a unique appeal to it because it is not about molding the artists that are joining the show. But rather, he believes it is about giving them guidance and direction to get where they need to be in their musical careers. And this is where he hopes to become of help to the artists joining the show for its third installment.
He also notes it has been "a lot of fun" to work alongside Christina Aguilera. The production of the third season commenced since June and he wrapped up filming last Wednesday. Meanwhile, the airing of the third season will kick off on Sept. 10.
This also coincides with the upcoming release of Greenday's new album, "Uno!", which is slated for a Sept. 25 release. Aside from Christina Aguilera, the three other original coaches are back for the third season of the The Voice, namely Blake Shelton, CeeLo Green, and Adam Levine.
