After England were knocked out of Euro 2012 last weekend, Wayne Rooney probably thought he wouldn't smile for a while but he was wrong.

The 26-year-old footballer looked more than happy as he enjoyed a romantic dinner for two with his wife Coleen in Los Angeles last night.

Wayne had clearly forgotten all about his work troubles as he tweeted a personal photo of him cosying up to his wife of four years, with a caption that read: 'Me and Coleen in los Angeles having dinner. Time to chill.'

In the picture, which appears to have been taken using Instagram, Wayne is seen with his arm around Coleen as they both sport cheesy grins for the camera.

The couple were later seen leaving the Boa Steakhouse where Coleen showed off an impressive tan, despite only arriving in the U.S. on Tuesday.

Coleen highlighted her colour in a purple patterned dress that showed off her legs and arms.

She teamed it with nude peep-toe stilettos and a matching clutch bag and completed her look with large hoop earrings.

Wayne, on the other hand, kept things casual by wearing jeans, trainers and a dark polo top.

The Manchester United star looked less happy as he got into a waiting taxi and was photographed.

The pair have been making the most of their chill out holiday and yesterday spent most of their day sunbathing and lazing by the pool.

Coleen,26, showed off her trim shape in a small tribal print bikini as she lounged on a bed.

The couple were careful in the heat and were seen applying sunscreen in a liberal fashion.

However, while Coleen sprayed herself with oil, Wayne rubbed in cream.

Wayne, who is no doubt reeling from being kicked out of the competition, appeared restless and decided to take a dip in the pool.
