The single is taken from the band's number one album, I'm With You, which is now approaching 200,000 sales in the UK alone.

Like the rest of the album, Brendan's Death Song was produced by Rick Rubin, who has worked on each of the band's albums since 1991's 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

Red Hot Chili Peppers followed the release of I'm With You with a sold-out ten-date tour of the UK and Ireland which included three huge shows at London's O2 Arena.

The band subsequently played two gargantuan outdoor shows in June at Knebworth and Sunderland's Stadium of Light.

One of the most successful acts in rock history, Red Hot Chili Peppers have sold more than 60 million albums, including five multi-Platinum albums, and have won six Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album for Stadium Arcadium, Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group for Dani California and Best Rock Song for Scar Tissue.
