She was left red-faced when her voluminous Dior gown caused her to trip up while making her way on stage to collect her Best Actress Oscar on Sunday night.

So when it came to choosing an outfit for the Vanity Fair post-Oscars event, winner Jennifer Lawrence opted for an outfit more suitable for celebrating in.

Jennifer swapped her pale pink red carpet dress for a slinkier silver plunging Calvin Klein number as she posed up with her award at the event, held at Sunset Tower in Los Angeles.

The 22-year-old teamed the dress with a chic updo and wore drop earrings and stacked bangles to accessorise her ensemble.

But Jennifer wasn't the only star to change outfits for the Vanity Fair party, with fellow Oscar winner Anne Hathaway also opting for a quick switch.

Anne, who was crowned Best Supporting Actress for her role as tragic prostitute Fantine in Les Miserables, swapped her baby pink Prada gown for a dove grey silk number with silver embellishments around the neck.

Other stars to switch it up for Graydon Carter's event included Zoe Saldana, who changed from her embellished pale grey strapless gown to a plunging black number with lace peekaboo style panels.

The Avatar actress also changed her loose curls into an updo for the occasion, and added to the glamour of her evening look with a slick of red lipstick.

Olivia Munn went for a entirely different look from her earlier red carpet appearance, switching her red and gold gown for a delicate beaded pale pink dress, complete with thigh-high split, for the star-studded afterparty.

The 32-year-old actress also drastically changed her make-up for the party, making the focus her smoky eyes instead of her bright lips from the awards.

Naomi Watts opted to stay in the same vein as her earlier awards ensemble, keeping things metallic in a black and gold one-shouldered gown for the Vanity Fair party.
