Donnie Wahlberg's home flooded by Hurricane Sandy

NEW Kids On The Block star Donnie Wahlberg has fallen victim to Hurricane Sandy - the star's entire New York apartment is underwater.

A record-breaking 13ft surge of seawater slammed into Manhattan last night, submerging low-lying areas of the city and flooding thousands of homes.

Even celebrities couldn't escape the devastating effects of the storm - one of the worst in US history.

Donnie, 43, today filmed himself wading through a foot of flood water that filled his home overnight, and shared it with followers on Twitter.

The star - brother of Boogie Nights actor Mark - could be seen splashing around in the murky mess as he surveyed the damage.

He accompanied the footage with regular written updates, writing: "My entire building is under a foot of water. Awesome neighbors all banding together to help each other! Stay safe!"

After later fleeing the building, he added: "Safe & Sound on Higher Ground! Don't worry about me. Material things are meaningless. Check in with those you know in the storm! Stay safe!!"

Donnie, who starred in Band of Brothers and current TV hit Blue Bloods, is just one of tens of millions affected by the superstorm, which has already claimed 33 lives and caused widespread damage across America's east coast - leaving an estimated 8 million people without power.
