She looked proud as punch as she posed alongside her superstar grandson and his stunning girlfriend on the red carpet at Tuesday night's Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards 2012 with VO5.

But Professor Green and Millie Mackintosh had to cut their evening short after the rapper's beloved grandmother was taken ill at the star-studded event.

Just hours after proudly posing alongside the couple as she enjoyed the glitz and glamour of her first red carpet event, Patricia was spotted being escorted out of the awards ceremony at London's Victoria and Albert Museum by a visibly concerned Millie.

Onlookers at the bash saw Patricia lying on some nearby stairs as doting Millie stayed by her side.

And after being alerted to the situation after he presented an award on stage, Professor Green rushed to the side of his nan, and didn't hesitate in taking his relative home straight away.

But despite the apparent drama, party-goers overheard Patricia telling the couple she was 'fine' as they left the venue.

The 28-year-old rapper's excitement at having his grandmother at the event was clear to see as they posed together on the red carpet earlier in the evening.

The Read All About It hitmaker grinned from ear to ear as he wrapped his arm around his beloved nan, while Millie also cuddled up to her boyfriend's relative.

And although the trio seemed to be having a whale of a time as they shared a joke on their way into London's Victoria and Albert Museum, actually getting Patricia to the event was a close call.

Professor Green admitted he was 'unimpressed' after a taxi driver took a wrong turn and left his nan's attendance at the bash hanging in the balance.

Writing on his Twitter page, he said: 'Having my evening ruined by a cab driver who thought the a406 would be a great way to get my nan to Chelsea. Not happy.

'First night I get to take my nan down the red carpet and its looking more likely that we won't even make it. Unimpressed.

'Not happy about the fact she's been in a car on her own for 2hrs either. F***ing cab drivers!'

The star - real name Stephen Manderson - cut a dapper figure in a tailored black suit, while Patricia looked lovely in a sparkly silver top.

Meanwhile, Millie showcased a vampy new look in a stunning strapless feather-detail gown, which she teamed with dark berry lipstick, a chic up-do and dazzling diamond drop earrings.

But it would seem the Made In Chelsea star also suffered her fair share of stress in the lead-up to the awards after her hair appointment was cancelled at the last-minute.

She tweeted: 'Last minute getting ready! No longer have a hair appointment this should be fun #late.

'ive got my dress for the @CosmopolitanUK women of the year awards tonight now need to figure out hair and make up! thinking vampy #TheCosmos.'

But when she was inside the venue, Millie turned her attention to other people's outfits, praising Nicole Scherzinger and Kelly Osbourne for their chic choices.

Writing on her Twitter page, she said: 'Checking out all the dresses! #thecosmos

'nicole scherzinger and Kelly Osborne are looking smoking hot! #TheCosmos.'

Professor Green was mainly raised by his grandmother after his mother gave birth to him at the age of 16, and he has been vocal about the fact that Patricia has been one of the 'most influential' people in his life.

He previously said: 'I was raised by my grandmother Patricia. Mum, who had me at 16, was there for the most part but my grandmother was the most influential.'

But despite the drama of the evening, it would seem Patricia was OK once the trio had made their way home, with the rapper later taking to his Twitter page to praise the inspirational attendees at the event.

He said: 'Some extremely inspirational people at the Cosmo awards tonight, an absolute privlige to be a guest and part of the panel.'
