Adele and Prodidy win at AIM Independent Music Awards

ADELE, The Prodigy and Alt-J were among the acts who picked up prizes at the 2012 AIM Independent Music Awards in London on Monday.

New mum Adele, who gave birth to a son on October 19, was named the Most Played Independent Act at the U.K. ceremony, which recognises artists signed to independent record labels.

It's the most recent prize in an incredible year for the multi-award winning singer after huge success at The Brits and The Grammys.

Rockers Enter Shikari walked away with the coveted Independent Album of the Year accolade for A Flash Flood Of Colour, seeing off competition from Alabama Shakes and Liars.

Dance music group The Prodigy was named Best Live Act, while newcomers Alt-J landed the Independent Breakthrough of the Year honour.

Rapper Wiley was handed the Genre Spotlight Award, and Scottish singer Edwyn Collins received the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award.
