Russell Brand news: comedian will star in new horror comedy film The Hauntrepreneur after Ben Stiller replaced him in Rentaghost
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall comedian will star in The Hauntrepreneur as an eccentric old man who helps a family fit into a new town by building them a haunted house.
Last October it emerged that Zoolander star Ben beat Russell to the leading role in a remake of hit BBC comedy Rentaghost.
But 36-year-old Russell — who split from wife Katy Perry after a 14-month marriage — now looks like he's ready to have another stab at funny horror films.
Michael Bay — the man behind the Transformers films — will be producing the flick and Russell is the only casting announcement to date.
He will next be seen in Rock of Ages alongside Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Alec Baldwin.
The 1980s jukebox musical is due to hit cinemas this June.
