Joy Division fans teed off by Disney
But no one could have predicted it would appear on a T-shirt at Disneyland.
Disney have started flogging clothing which adapts the classic 1979 Peter Saville cover design to include the shape of Mickey Mouse.
A listing on the firm's website originally admitted the clobber was "inspired by Joy Division" but the line was later removed from the page.
The description now says the T-shirt "incorporates Mickey's image within the graphic of the pulse of a star" and that it was "created especially for Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort".
Indie fans have questioned whether family-friendly Disney knew the dark history of the legendary Manchester group when the upbeat design was created.
Taking the mic ... morose Joy Division singer Ian Curtis
One fan blogged: "Does Disney know the singer of this band hanged himself?"
And you can bet ex-band members Peter Hook and Bernard Sumner will have an opinion on it.
At least it's better than a Joy Division rollercoaster.
That would be a really depressing ride...
