John Travolta news: Stolen Mercedes found in pieces
The Pulp Fiction star's 1970 280SL was nicked in September when he parked it by a a Jaguar dealership in Santa Monica for ten minutes.
The motor — estimated to be worth up to $ 100,000 — has now been partially recovered at a "chop shop" in Los Angeles, where stolen vehicles are often found by cops.
Among the parts recovered were the hub caps, tyres, leather seats and a speedometer.
Sgt Richard Lewis, who was investigating the theft, said: "It was not recovered in whole. It was chopped. We have numerous pieces recovered but not the entire car."

Michael Green, 58, and DL Rayford Jr, 52, were nabbed in December over the theft.
But their arrests were not made public until now so a larger investigation into a car theft ring was not compromised.
Rayford pleaded no contest to a charge of grand theft auto. He has been given 16 months in jail and was ordered to pay Travolta £32,000 in compensation.

Green is due in court on February 8.
Speaking last year, Travolta — who is also a qualified pilot — admitted he was glad it was not his private jet that was stolen.

He said: "I was looking for Jaguars, and it was a beautiful, spotless dealership and I left it parked on the side.
"And eight to ten minutes later, my car was gone. And it's like that movie, 'Gone in 60 Seconds', like, who can explain it?"
He then quipped: "But at least it wasn't a jet, though that might be easier to find."
