Noel Gallagher news: Singer says wife Sara pushed him into making solo album as she didn't want him around the house
The Manc star said he put together Gallagher's High Flying Birds because Sara was getting annoyed at him lazing around at home.
Noel, who reached No.1 with the album in October, said: "I had a lot of time to work out what I was going to do; my first thought was to do nothing.
"It was great until my then girlfriend, now wife, asked me after about 11 months what I was going to do.
"I said: 'I suppose I could make an album,' and she asked if that could be tomorrow.
"Women! It's either: 'You're never here,' or: 'You're always under my feet.'"
Noel quit Oasis back in the summer of 2009 after a backstage bust-up with his brother and frontman Liam.
Liam now performs with former Oasis members as Beady Eye and Noel got together a backing band for his project.
And he said he thought he would hate being the frontman after all the years of letting Liam take centre stage.
Noel said: "I'm in the middle of the stage singing and playing guitar but I'm thinking about too much to worry about it.
"I thought I would hate being the frontman and I have to say I thought people would expect more from me, but I haven't got any moves."
He added: "But if anyone wants to enter into conversation with me during a show, they are more than welcome."
Noel said his High Flying Birds outfit probably won't last long but he will continue to write songs and wouldn't mind just being the guitarist in a band again.
He said: "As much as I miss being in a band like Oasis, the compromise would be too much. Maybe I'll just be the guitarist in a band one day."
