'Two and a Half Men' Star Calls Show 'Filth'

There’s a new controversy over television’s Two and a Half Men. No, it has nothing to do with tiger blood or winning. Actor Angus T. Jones, who plays Jake, has denounced the show, saying it conflicts with his Christianity.
“I can be a christian and be on a show like Two and a Half Men. You can’t. You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can’t. I’m not OK with what I’m learning...
The video testimony was posted online by Forerunner Chronicles Church, where the “Half Man” worships. Jones said he just recently discovered his faith, and now urges viewers to stop watching the show.
“If you watch ‘Two and a Half Men,’ please stop watching ‘Two and a Half Men.’ I’m on ‘Two and a Half Men,’ and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it. Please stop filling your head with filth.”
Playing Charlie earns Jones about $ 350,000 per episode, making him one of the top earners in the sitcom business. He’s catching some flack on the Twitterverse for it, with one tweet reading,
“If Angus T. Jones feels so strongly about the negative [effects] of #TwoandaHalfMen, he should donate his 300k per episode salary to charity”
Jones does have some support for his testimony. Parents Television Council President Tim Winters told Fox News …
"If indeed Angus T. Jones meant what he purportedly said, and that this is not just a publicity stunt ... then his comments are welcomed, and we urge viewers to heed his call,"
Jones has said nothing about leaving the show, but his contract expires after this season. No one from Two and a Half Men has commented.
