IT might be the final weeks of X Factor but that doesn't mean things are cooling off when it comes to the battle for the best-dressed female judge.

And on Saturday night's Abba versus Motown show it was former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger who won the style contest between the X Factor's two stunning lady judges.

Nicole pulled out the fashion stops in a knee-length, fitted, sleeveless dress that featured a wide sash covering one shoulder.

The 34-year-old's dress pulled rank over N-Dubz star Tulisa's low cut, short, grey lacy frock, with a long train at the back.

And, while they might be going head-to-head in the X-Factor style wars but the two pop star judges agreed over-28s contestant Christopher Maloney could have done better on last night's show.

The Liverpudlian, who is mentored by Gary Barlow, could face the chop after being criticised by Nicole for his performance of Lionel Richie's Dancing On The Ceiling.

She said: "I don't see much soul there."

Fellow judge Tulisa also told him that she didn't believe it what he sang.

But the glamourous judges had nothing but compliments for favourite James Arthur, after he performed Marvin Gaye's 'Let's Get it On', with Tulisa saying she wanted him or Jahmene Douglas to win.

Tulisa, 24, told James: "You take a classic and completely make it your own."

Boy Band Union J had their best night yet, according to Tulisa, after nailing versions of The Winner Takes It All and I'll Be There by the Jackson Five.
