Music’s self-described ‘best rapper alive,’ Lil Wayne is saying he’s ready to get a life - outside the music world. WSVN explains.
“The rapper saying he will be retiring from the music world following the release of his new album ‘I am Not a Human Being II’ … the news coming on the heels of reports that the hip hop star was hospitalized for seizure-like symptoms.”
But no worries, Weezy fans - he still has plans to bring his beats back for Tha Carter V. But a writer for MTV reports he might be ready to leave the rap scene once and for all.
“Weezy put out his first solo album … in 1999, but … if you count his nine solo LPs, four Hot Boys albums, 2006 tag-team album with Birdman, his 2009 YMCMB compilation and the dizzying number of mixtapes he has dropped, it becomes easier to understand how Wayne may be all rapped out.”
So what’s up next for Wayne? He says he’s ready for a one way trip out of the music industry and into sports analysis - because one of his friends encouraged him to turn an idea into more than just a dream.
“Nelly and I, just a hint on something about the sports show thing, we got a sports show coming out … he said if I’m going to do something sports, he’s like I feel like you’re the man to come to.” (Via MTV)
But is there another reason that led Wayne to forget how to love rapping?
Earlier this month TMZ reported Weezy was hospitalized following two seizure-like incidents on board back-to-back flights, which led to doctors telling him to stay grounded.
The doctors’ order led one Miami New Times blogger to say Wayne could easily put hip hop on the back burner. “Weezy will have more time to skate because he can’t travel. And … he can’t fly around to promote records.”
Wayne also says he will be comfortable skating and promoting his TrukFit clothing line. Meanwhile, I’m Not a Human Being II is set to hit stores in February.
