Coldplay hint at three-year break from touring
BRIT rock superstars Coldplay have hinted they are set to take a THREE-YEAR break from touring — despite recently teasing fans with the title of their new album.
The Paradise stars, who won rave reviews for their performance at the Paralympic Closing ceremony this summer, made the announcement after a gig on Wednesday.
Talking to the crowd in the Australian city of Brisbane, frontman Chris Martin said: "This is the last big show for three years or so.
"I don't want to stop."
But speaking to Australian radio station 2dayfm earlier this week, the band told how their next album would be easier to pronounce than their tongue-twisting last record, Mylo Xyloto.
Chris, who is wed to Hollywood star Gyneth Paltrow, hinted: "The next one we're releasing is much easier to pronounce."
The group's Mylo Xyloto tour has seen them travelling around the world since October 2011.
And their Olympic performance saw the Brit outfit duet with fellow showbiz stars Jay-Z and Rihanna.
In an interview in their new film, Coldplay Live 2012, drummer Will Champion told how he'd had nightmares while on the road.
He says: "We were in Las Vegas and I got a call to say one of my kids was in hospital. That's when it's tough being on the road and away from your family."
Coldplay are still scheduled to perform a pair of gigs with Jay-Z in the Barclays Centre, Brooklyn, New York, on December 30 and New Year's Eve.
They are also set for a number of gigs in Latin America in February 2013.
