Snooki Confirms Pregnancy, Engagement

After much speculation, Snooki has confirmed — she is both pregnant and engaged.
The 24-year-old ‘Jersey Shore’ star announced the news with an Us Weekly cover, saying …
“‘I have different priorities now … I don't care what anybody else thinks. As long as I know I'm ready and he's ready.’ [Snooki found out she was pregnant] … ‘right after New Year's,’ she said. Snooki's first thought? ‘S--t, I've been drinking! I was worried. It was New Year's Eve and we were in Vegas, so I did go crazy.’”
Ready or not — here the baby comes. But will her career still come calling? Snooki has made a name for herself through drinking, partying and hooking up on the MTV show — but will there be less partying post-baby? An MTV spokesperson tells PEOPLE:
“No decision has been made yet on a sixth season of Jersey Shore. … We wish Nicole a healthy and happy pregnancy and congratulate her on her engagement … We support her as she starts this new chapter of her life."
But is no news, or in this case, no decision, good news? WTTG talked with TMZ’s Dax Holt to get some insight.
“This could be either a very good thing for her career -- turn her into a mother and see a whole new side of Snooki, goes from party girl to mother. I don’t know. We’ll see how it goes.”
A writer for Gather offers examples of success...
“One person who was really able to continue with her TV career is [The Girls Next Door’s] Kendra Wilkinson. She was able to continue on with a reality TV show after she had a baby, and it showed how her priorities changed. Who knows, maybe [Snooki] could even televise her wedding Kardashian style?”
And WTAQ has some money-making ideas.
“Babies Can Be a Marketing Gold Mine … After go-to stylist to the stars, Rachel Zoe, gave birth … she immediately began talking about launching a kids' clothing line. Snooki could … do the same exact thing … baby clubbing outfits, baby rhinestone sunglasses, baby bouffants …”
No word yet on the sex of the baby.
